Right now I'm using some monster cables for the mains and some good old CAT-5 for the rest. The mains cables are hooked up just the way they are. The CAT-5 cables come with 8 wires in each strand. I hooked it so 8 wires go to each of the speakers so the cable is considerably thicker. When I turn it up to around the receiver's max in 6-chan stereo(all speakers have same sensitivity) the surrounds seem to be hitting higher volumes than the mains. Do you think the room acoustics could be causing this? Could it be the cabling? The speakers maybe are made differently. The speakers are the same brand.
