I've got a Radeon 9600 AIW video card, and i'm currently using a regular TV-out to hook it up to my Sony CRT tv. The picture quality is horrible. I mean, it's OK for watching full-screen movies, but i practically can't see anything in Windows. My question is: would S-Video connection make the picture look any better? Thanks in advance!

If it's not a hi-def monitor, it's a waste of time.

If it is a HD set, you need to adjust your screen resolution settings to whatever makes the tv happy.
S-video is without a doubt better than composite, it will help to use the S-Vid cable. Like I said though, if it's not HD, it's not going to look good no matter how much you tweak it.

Configure the notebook to output to an external monitor.

Check out your function button and F8 or F5.
