I am looking for a good digital camcorder for general shooting (indoor, family events, etc.) but also to tape my daughter's lacrosse games. Games are played outside on a large open field so I am looking for a camera that also has a good range zoom (15x+). I have 2 questions.
1. What is the minimal acceptable zoom that would allow me to get good fairly close video the full length of the field? (I have a tripod.)
2. Any recommendations on good overall cameras with an appropriate zoom? I'm looking to keep it under $1,000.
