The best policy here might be to select a couple cables that appeal to you. Search yellow pages, internet, friends etc for stereo cable dealers that allow a 30-day audition (or similar) and take the cables home (a deposit is typical) and use them for a while. If you like what your hear, and the cables appeal to your budget, then the purchase would be worthwhile. Or maybe you could borrow some from an audiophile friend. The primary problem on this cable discussion board, is that people are generalizing and applying very poor logic to cables. You MUST listen to a particular cable/interconnect to see if the application is sonically successful, no matter what you've heard, believe, like to state etc.
