Subwoofer Wiring

Post Number: 1 Registered: Aug-04	Posted on Saturday, August 21, 2004 - 21:59 GMT If You have a DVC Subwoofer at 2 Ohms, You can wire it up so that it is 1 Ohm, or 4 Ohm. However, Would it be better to wire them in paralell, and get a 1 Ohm stable amplifier, or should I wire them in Series, and Get a 4 Ohm amplifier? What are the Pros and Cons?

Joseph Bronze Member Username: Joe718 Post Number: 90 Registered: May-04	Posted on Monday, August 23, 2004 - 05:16 GMT some amps are stable at 1 ohms but if it isnt a very good amp you get distortion and alot more heat off of the amp than it woul be at 2 or 4 ohm. You will also pay alot more for a good 1 ohm stable amp compared to a 2 or a 4 ohm amp.
