I like my speakers neutral & detailed.

Will it matter much if i don't use an amp?

Look at these 2 :

http://www.amazon.com/Morel-Maximo-6-Inch-Component-Speaker/dp/B0035FZJEO

The Morels are efficient so you might not need an amp.

I just ordered this one - MB Quart - more forward sounding one - especially brilliant top (tweeter) - perhaps not neutral. The Morels are more laid back than these.

MB Quarts are turbo-charged on top - some people love them, some think too bright. I for one love them very much.

Both are 6 1/2 incher - is that what you want ?

For a little more, Focals are even better than the Morels. They have nice refined laid back sound.

Thanks guys. I think I will pass on mb quarts since they are considered bright and I don't like bright speakers.

Those Focal sure do interest me, how do they compare to others brands like ?

Is the wiring difficult if I will be replacing stock speakers, should I run an amp if I get the focal's?

Focals are French made high end speakers - their top of the line ones cost many thousands of $. Their home speakers are also very good and expensive, so they have the know how to make good speakers.

They sound considerably better than the typical stock speakers, and will sound even better with an amp. They have complex rich sound that is addicting - perhaps not exciting sound like MB Quart, but nice and laid back, and polite sounding.

It would be best to hear them for your-self, as you know. If you can't do that, than you can do a lot worse than focals. Most likely, they will be some of the best speakers in many auto hifi shops you visit.

Cut above the run of the mill brands like Alpine, Pioneer, Infinity, etc.

I heard them straight from a HU, and they sounded pretty good, but it was when you added a good amp, that they really shined.

If you like polite laid-back sound, you will probably like these - they can sound hauntingly rich with the right setup. You want to pair them up with good front end - they are that good, and deserve the high end stuff to bring them out of their full potential.

Definitely the best auto speaker I've heard. I ordered MB Quarts since they are forward sounding ones, and I like that kind of exciting sound. If you prefer polite laid-back sound, you will probably like the focals.

I hope you find good sounds on wheels - I am trying to do the same now, and I hope I get there too...

Thanks for the link james, I will check it out and do some reading.

Where do you guys get your install parts for speakers, like wiring harnesses etc?

If you buy your gears here, all the necessary parts are included for free - but they might not have what you are looking for, in which case, you can still buy the install parts there.

You can talk to someone on the phone before ordering to make sure you have everything you need.
