Just got back from vacation and eager to start this build. Will be for Sean P and his DD 1515. Going to have black carpet with red port, red inside, and red outer ring that will go around the plexi. Should be fun. Here are the designs. I will have pictures up later tonight of some of the progress.

you could make that entire panel where the window is from clear lexan @ 1.00" thick, and it would look rally nice, too. Clear or tinted lexan. If you go with clear, you can mirror the inside of the enclosure, and light it with red cathode tubes. That'd look neat.

That also gives you the option of using an engraving tool to put something like the DD emblem into the lexan, so it catches the red back lighting where it's etched.

Thanks fellas. It got too dark to take pics so I will take some tomorrow. And Glass, I have a local distributor who gets me super prices on acrylic plexi clear or tinted. So I prefer to use Plexi. Engraving costs alot locally from the prices I have gotten from distributors. If Sean is wanting to do the mirrors and red lights he can let me know I'm sure he will see this thread soon. Regardless it's going to be a fun and nice looking enclosure in the end.

For what it's worth my plexi window was only 1/2" thick. My sub is an 18" FI Q. On 1000w my project has not failed me yet. That DD however, is a different story hahaha.

Just about done needs roundovers, paint then plexi and carpet. It's a drag because the dry time for everything slows down the building process :/

Got the box today. I gotta say man,the picture does it no justice! Very nice, clean job! Truly a work of art! Thanks again dustin.

Now,as you know this box will take up the whole trunk. I dont wanna have to keep taking it out. So...what way do i want to face the port? Trunk or cabin? Usually i have my box at the back of the trunk facing the cabin, but those boxes are much, much smaller. Any thoughts guys?

holy crap that was a tight fit in there lol. Have to remove the back trunk trim around latch to get it to fit? Had a 15 in back of my impala at one point in nearly 5 cubic, and it was a pain. Had to remove anything that was removeable to get it to squeeze in.

Yeah it was quite a pain in the a s s to get in there! Didnt have to remove the trunk trim, but i had to take off my rubber trunk seal, remove my spare tire and take off a cover for the child saftey belt. lol Its all good though,it was worth it!

Running it off my aq1200 @ 2ohms. It sounds pretty good. One thing i have noticed though,im getting all kinds of vibration but not the sound. Kinda weird. Like the sound isnt matching? Maybe cause the box is to big for my little car trunk? lol Idk,im going to try to position it a differnt way an see if it makes a difference. Any thoughts?

No,i dont think it has anything to do with the box. It just kinda sounds like its suffocating. Like theres not enough space for it to respond. Like i said, when i get some time im going to move it around an see if that makes a difference.
