Ok I had 2 12" Mtx roadthunder 6000 I some how blew them so I went and bought 2 12" Audio bahn naturals and I am running them on a Mtx 750 watt amp that ran the 2 Mtx subs but the Audio bahns are popping when I turn them up a decent amount of bass is coming out but when i turn it up pop pop pop I have only been playing them lowly since they are brand new but i don't think they should pop like that at all and the mtx 12's pounded like crasy I don't even get 1/4 of the pounding before they start popping do I still have to play them low till they break in or it a diff problem? if you have any help for I would love it Oh one more thing when you buy new subs do you really have to break them in for like 2-3 weeks or can you just pound them right off?
your amp gains are turned up too far. \if the subs aren't loud enough, get a bigger amp. don't turn up the gains. what blew your subs was the amp having teh gains up too far. the amp was clipping and sending DC voltage to the speakers. that tried them. you can blow speakers with 25 watts of power if its all distortion.
oh, and yes you DO need to break in any speakers you get new, for about 20 hours of moderate use.

so the speakers don't need time to break in just crank them right away if you have the right set up???

ah ok thanks oh one more thing are the new bahns good for pounding decent my friend said he had some and they where pretty good im just wondering if you would know at all? and thanks for the help ;)
personally I think audiobahn is total crap, but that's my opinion. if you like them, that's all that matters. turn those gains down to about half way up or so. see if the popping stops. let me know if that fixes the problem. if the amp has a bass boost button, turn that off, too, and set the bass on the head unit to flat. any EQing of the bass will increase the distortion as well. once the popping is gone and the system sounds right.. then ease into any bass boosting to get some extra thump from it.
