jk.. he could always do an external xover.. which wouldn't be a bad idea.. from that list the jbls.. ive been very impressed with install with them. IMO

ive had a few CDT sets.. each one was loud and clean.. but didn't sound accurate.. like a fake reproduction

maybe im just used to my DLS

You can get the DLS UP6i for a smidge more

check diymobile for some used comp sets.. you'd have more luck on that forum for these that list of comps vs ca.com

The JBL's have alot of the cutting-edge tech that they use in their pro sound drivers and have the best midbass output of any non-exotic comps I have heard. The mid/high accuracy is a little below the higher end models DLS and Focal, which are out of your budget. What the JBL's do excel at is output, which 6 1/2's typically lack, and at $250 shipped from a solid dealer they are easily your best choice.

yes they will handle more.. make sure its clean power and they are installed right

they are big.. mounting depth is quite a bit.. and again. install is key but in the right install they sound great

play off-axis well

this is why i recommended these to you first.. but im still in love with the dls haha

I was pretty impressed with the D6 and Hex pro comp sets I've heard. The mpyre mids I have are beautiful and I think 200watts would be perfect for them
