Hey guys,

To make room and money for a new set-up, I'm selling my old sub and box to a friend. I want to make sure I am giving him a fair price.

The sub is a 15" Fi SSD with flatwind coil ($230 retail). I made the box. It is 3.5 cubes tuned to 33 hz. I never gave the sub more than 800 RMS, and for the last year, it has just been sitting in my room. Took care of it very well, and it almost looks new. I am thinking something like $130 for the sub alone, and $160-$170 for both. Whats a fair price?

Also, he wants to give the sub ~1200 RMS. The sub is DVC 2 ohm. He does not want to spend any more than $160 on the amp. Could you please recommend him a amp? I believe a Hifonics 1200D only does 1200 RMS at 1 ohm or else I would recommend that, but does any good quality, cheap-ish amp do 1200 at 2 ohms?

Thanks in advance for the help.

if its DVC 2 then he would want an amp to put out the desired power at 1 Ohm

That amp will only do ~900w, it is overrated.

You are not going to find an amp new that does 1200w for $160. Audioque 1200d is $250 and thats the best deal I have seen.

That's what came to mind right away to me too, but he said it was too much.

Can somebody please re assure me that the Hifonics 1200D will work with the D2 sub?

Also what are you thinking is a fair price for the box and subs?

A dual 2 ohm sub wires to one ohm which will work with the hifonics. But you will get ~900w from that amp, which is probably good since the SSD isn't designed to take any more.
