i know everyone favors ported boxes but what will be the best choice four sealed 15's or four sealed 12's? im not competing just for daily pounding?

It depends if you have the room to properly run 15's. If you dont the 12's are the better option but not all sub woofers need as much airspace as the next either but you also need to decide on a sub woofer that suits your budget and musical tastes as well.

well i have two zx2500's but im looking to get a 40.1..i have a $4000 budget for now but its most likely to go down to $3200

you dont need quantity of subs to make more sound in all cases... ported boxes with the right sub sound great and get loud... so maybe 2 really nice 15's ported would work? Its up to you tho
