Hey guys I could use some help...

I'm thinking about buying 2 13w7's, 2 1000/1s to power them, and a 500/5 for my door speakers UNTIL I started hearing everyone and their moms saying that it's not worth it, or the subs will smoke, or the earth will end when you buy them. Not receiving good feedback for them.

Would it be better to get 1 12' Image Dynamics IDMAX12-D2 sub and power it with a Massive Audio P.1000 amp? My friend is willing to sell them to me for $400, Is that a good deal or would it be smarter to keep my setup or go for something else?

I currently have 2 12' Alpine type R's powered with only 1 rockford fosgate 1000 watt amp punch series so I dont think thats enough. I'm looking for more bass because these don't push out enough. I want it to be more low frequency stuff that will make your throat giggle and hard to breathe

give a max budget. but from what you were sayin on the JL system sounds like you got some deep pockets. you can get better for the money than JL. However, 2 w7 would POUND! i would give them more than 1000wrms tho.

look into:
RD Audio
Fi
Treo
Audiopulse
Audioque
Mmats
Soundsplinter
Ascendant Audio

google any of those names and see what you come up with.

I spoke to my friend and he referred me to the owner of a car audio shop and I asked him what he thinks is the best subwoofer and he said with his 18 years as manager, he has seen 1 15" MTX Thunder 9500 speaker destroy 2 13w7s. I couldn't believe it but he says the 13w7s break easily.

Do you guys have any info on the MTX Thunders? I think I can get 2 15"s for about $700.

And my max budget on subs would prolly be $1000 for 2 and same for the amps.

Is that the best I can get for my budget of $1000 for subs and $1000 for amps? And should I go with 1 15" or 2 12"s?

Well if you get the kicker 2500 and Fi BTL you will need to upgrade your Electric Charging System... Btl is about 500 that amp is about 500 on ebay... so you would have 1000 or so for your charging system

HO ALT AND BATS

You could get a AQ HDC3 18 or 15 would be louder then the 12

But it about if you have the room

But can't go wrong with a 18inch for 289 or the 15 for 249

if you have $1000 for subs and $1000 for amps...

why were you looking at (2) JL 1000/1 AND (2) JL 13.5w7 AND a 500/5??????

you cant get all that for $2000...

Well, I can get a 1000/1 and 500/5 for $500 and im sure I can get another 1000/1 for 400-500 if I find a good deal and 2 13w7's for 1000 would be around 2000. But thats beside the point.

My question is do you think its worth it and also, for that much money, can i do better than JL audio? I've heard nothing but good things about the Fi's. Now Im just wondering what setup to go with on the Fi's

if your going to run that much power, then you really need to budget in a HO alt. you wont be able to run much more than 1000rms on a stock alternator.
