wat would get louder, the R's would be sealed and the BL would be fully loaded and ported..and they would both recieve 1500rms. Im just wondering wat will get louder..i no they both sound about the same sq wise..thanks guys

Tough call. I'd get the type Rs though, b/c if you ever did have more room (I assume thats why they're sealed) you could port them and gain output........

Despite the fact that the type R's are sealed, they will be louder on that power.

So everyone thinks that 3 type R's would be pretty dang loud in a hatchback??

One determining factor is the tuning frequency of the ported box for the BL.

If it is ported low(31hz and below), the output of the type R's would easily exceed that of the BL.

However, the opposite may be yield indistinct output differences.

Sealed enclosures produces a wider bandwith than ported enclosures and with greater accuracy, but with a reduced output..

Try two 12 rtypes ported on 1500wrms if space is an issue. They will get loud...

Its less hassle with the wiring and buying an amp to match the impedance

Sealed = less ouput than ported

Keep in mind the subs has to be designed for the type of enclosure you're using

Decide on your budjet...

If these are the only subs and sizes you plan on using,You should decide on whether you are looking for sq or sql.

This will help you determine the most suitable enclosure and how many subs you need.

If your choices are limited to the BL and the R's ,I would suggest with that stick to the R's

The mags have a rms of 950wrms and will handle 1000wrms and sound great doing it...

There's quite a few guys on this forums that has used those subs and can tell you that they are excellent Sql drivers.

"34hz"

That tuning may work well in his car, but the optimal tuning for your car is going to be different.

Asking, "Will X sub(s) be louder/sound better than X sub(s)?" is absolutely pointless. Enclosure/cabin add too much in the way of variables. I think that, in the optimal ported enclosure, designed for the car, a properly powered 15" BL could out-bump 3 Type-Rs in a sealed enclosure.
