well i was thinking about how great my rl-s sounds in the sealed box... but i think i might be interested in getting a ported box for it now. but how much more spl will i get? like the sub sounds nice and everything but i want those deeper notes to be shaking my car more.. if you know what i mean..

p.s. my box right now is about 2.5 net sealed.

ported box would be much louder. i already tried it. but you lose alot of sq. i mean alot.

mike from sound splinter doesn't recomend ported. but if you must he said tune it real low like 24hz - 28hz.

In another post fellow ecoustics members recommended I go with a ported box tuned to 32Hz for SQ on one 15" sub. Were they wrong?

maybe that person liked the way it sounded ported and tuned to that freq. i liked it sealed. either way it will sound good.
