so i took my DMM to my idmax it is supossed to be duel 2 ohm and wired in series to give it 4 ohms. so i checked it and each coil is @ 1.4 ohms and n series its 2.8 ohms. could this potentially hurt my amp if it is 4 ohm stable?

yea.......i had the same question awhile back.....it can hurt your amp....for that set up to work u want a amp that is 1 ohm stable so it can support other types of ohms....but check with others....ok!

ok thats what i thought. right now i have it hooked up to a single channel of my a/d/s/ pq20 which is 2 ohm stable with one channel. but i did have it bridged for about 3 hours of usage where the bridged channel is 4 ohm stable. but im alright now. lol i got 90 watts going to it right now and it still gets decently loud and excellent sq. soon it will be hooked up to my pg zx500 with a little over 650 wrms.
