Well its been a few days with the cvt in the rear hatch of my 4runner and it sounds really good! It leave the old Pioneer in the dust(Pioneer shallow12) I also got a chance to try a earthquake sws12, SQ was good but it does not have the SPL of the Kicker.
The Kicker is doing everything well! Very pleased with the $90. I dropped on this Kicker. here's a pic of my nasty install.

glad you're happy.
BTW - a 4runner is one of the best vehicles to put subwoofers in (with the rear power window). why mount THIS and not get a conventional setup? do you need the space or what?

Yep! I need the space. I use this rig for camping/offRoading. Plus I dont need the worrie of someone looking in the window, seeing a box and braking in. The Pioneer was way better for hiding because it was 3" deep. The Kicker need an extra 1.5" so it sticks out that much more, plus its surround also sticks out more(1/2") so I had to make a grill for it.
