ok, so our tax money should be coming in soon, that means I'll have $300 to play with. What is a good basic HU for say $200. I was looking into Pioneer but someone told me they are having trouble with the RCA's on them now. So I know this is the sub forum, but since more people come here figured I would get more opinions this way.
Features I want....RCA's for subwoofer, subwoofer controlls, at least a 6-7 band equalizer, removable faceplate...or reversable, am/fm/cd. and maybe a remote control.

if you go Kenwood, get the x590 or x890. They have the Phatnoise program. the newer ones just have some generic kenwood music editor. No voice indexing.

just for the record, its the pioneer OWNERS having trouble with the units, not really pioneer's fault other than they coulda made it harder to blow the ground, but they are very reliable on fixing it. The RCA grounds blow easily if you plug or unplug your RCA from the HU while its receving power.....YES i did that when i first install my HU and yes pioneer fixed it for me....

IMO....if you know what you're doing and take your time on the install, you should have no problems with the pioneer unit....

Yea, I know it was a x590 vid. Im just saying dont get x591.

Heres some new cheap. And USB is the balls. Get a 2 gig thumbdrive, and throw away crappy burnt , skipping worn out CD's.

2 gigs holds like 400 MP3's, Thats like 30-40 cd's at your fingertips. Plus it has a remote and a boat load of tunning . 4 volt out.
It has a lot of nice features for short money.
But join the bandwagon and get a Pioneer. what do i care.
I recommend kenwood. whatever.

"But join the bandwagon and get a Pioneer."

Pioneer is a not a "bandwagon". People buy them for a reason. They do make quality head units.
