Fisher, that is some nice carpeting skills, and a sickk emblem. How do you carpet your box, because it looks like the seams are all tucked n stuff.

Thanks on the emblem, thats a new touch, hope it goes over well. As far as the carpeting, it is all tucked. I have a technique I came up with to do the carpeting. A "How-To" can be found on a few different forums. Check out cajunkyard.com, its up there....

kicking around a new purchase for 1 each 15" sub off 4000 to 5000 watts for daily as i already have spl set ups , and wanting B.J. to build me another enclosure at like 30 hertz for block beating

already have a trf2212 & FI BTL , both 12" for spl

so i was considering the following 15" for daily
what do you think would work best with about 3.5 cubes at 30 hertz

atomic apocalypse apxx
digital designs 9515g
RE xxx
FI BTL music options
tc sounds lms 5400
mmats dreadnaught

any thoughts?

Great work fisher! I have built a few boxes in my day here locally, and I really admire your work! Very professional!

Also, I was looking at the carpeting technique you said you used from cajunkyard. It says on there to tuck the carpet into the sides or whatever. How would you do this if the box was sealed nice and tight with screws and woodglue?

u cut a long groove along the bottom of the wood b4 u put it together

how deep of a groove? about 1/8th inch? Do you do this on all four edges if you are looking at an ariel view of the box where it is standing up tall?

Thanks for the comments guys. I really appreciate the kind words.

For the carpeting, the grove is 1/4'' deep. The the rabbeted egde is 3/8'' wide. So one the edge slids into the grooves, you have a 1/8'' slot to tuck the carpet into.

You still fasten everything together with glue and screws.
Just the routeing process allows you to get a nice finished look with the carpet.

Awesome, do you use the router to do your rabbeting edges, and I've also heard of where people inset the sides a little bit, like I saw on your boxes, and carpet everything but the inset sides, tucking the folds around on the inside of the edges that you have inset. After you do that, then cut a piece of carpet perfect to fit the inset of the sides, and press the two together. I guess thats how they are done on prefab boxes. I think I might try both ways, and see which way works best for me.
