the box design i have was made around a pair of 18" fi Qs. it is tuned to right around 31hz and was designed to produce loud lows...
after recieving this design, fi audio came out with the new BL and i want to get a pair of them instead but im wondering if these subs are going to give up alot of the lows?
i was told the "Fs" made alot of difference in this situation and the "Fs" is quite abit higher on the BL. even higher than the BTL...
my box is designed for 2 18" Fi Qs. it is supposed to be loud, sound good, and get SUPER LOW... by putting 2 18" Fi BLs it will be loud. but will it sound good and get low at all?
if it matters at all, the FS is 8 higher on the BL than the Q...
Well, I'll give it a stab. If the Q's are 31, and the BLs are 8 higher, making them 39? Then I dont know. My want to shorten up the port and tune it higher. Just quess work. Throw it into one of those box programs and play with the F's
Maybe this is a dumb question, but if you know the quality of the Q, you know how good it will sound, and you already have a perfect box for them, why not just get them rather than the BL?
if that was designed by team toxic bass (which something tells me it is ;) ) then its made FOR Fi Q's. So put Qs in them. if you really wanna know how BLs will do with it, then ask TTB themselves what they think.
