wow, then your system would sound like sh1t!!!!! lol and don't say "well i would have fullrange Zapco amps"...b/c those cost and arm and a leg Class D amps were produced for high power applications, thats it. you can argue technical specs alllll day, but i have heard subs with Class D amps and Class A/b amps....and the class a/b amps just sound cleaner to me...not as sloopy(might be a dampening thing) and not as boomy(might be a BB thing) but overall....they just sound cleaner. my whole system is run on Class a/b amps...and i can't complain about not having enough power. lol |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Google is your Friend, FL Post Number: 5934 Registered: Aug-05 | i agree with marshall though, for the kind of power yu are looking for 4-6kw, class D's will be your best bet. |
Gold Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 5507 Registered: Oct-05 | can someone explain to me why class ab amp would have better sq than the class D on subs? most likely you are not going to be playing freq above 90-100hz on your sub so what would a person benefit from a class ab? |

Gold Member Username: Basshead86Google is your Friend, FL Post Number: 5956 Registered: Aug-05 | w/e dude. it doesn't matter....it more than likely is ALL install and user knowledge. but if you used a class D on components...it wouldn't sound good...and simply knowing that, i can't play my subs with it even though i can't hear the distortion at that low of a freq. CHAD!.... |

Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfWisteria, Lane USA Post Number: 11604 Registered: Dec-03 | I use all class AB amps in my system, but really you won't her a difference with a class D amp on subs, if you stay below clipping. A class D amp will run cooler and mroe efficiently as well. use class D for subs, class AB for full range. |
