He made a dual chamber box for 2 12's, and the port was supposed ot be tuned to 32 hz. well, the port is supposed to be 1.75" in width, and it is that, but then when the port makes the L shape to the left, for the left sub, and to the right for the right sub, he put the mdf on the wrong side, so that portion is 2.5" in width

how much of a diff will this be in tuning about?

lol. no. its not my box. if it wuz my box i woulodnt care cause i have only made 2, so i wouldn't lie.

but no, each side is exctly the same. one chamber is the same as the other. he made it so the biginning of the port is 1.75" across, and then when it goes to the L, is 2.5" across. what would that tune out to be, if anyone knows.

and no, it isnt my box , i'll have pics of my new one in a couple days when i carpet it :-)

how long is the secion with the bigger port and how long is the section with the smaller.. it will make the tuning higher though.. a bigger port has to be longer to get a lower tune

If the port gets wider then wouldnt that mean its tuned higher???? Unless u increase the length also....

i already said.

the beginnin of port = 1.75"

and then when it goes off to the L shape its 2.5" in width..

he wanted it tuned to 32 hz, which is why 1.75" is supposed to be the width.

so what would the tuniing be around?

just have him put another piece of mdf on the other side of that port side to make the port width 1.75" the whole length. The only thing that would happen is that one piece he put in that was in the wrong spot would take up a little volume but not enough to effect the tuning frequency by much.

That and one port wall would be twice as thick... oh well

depending on the displacement of that piece of wood you should not see more than 1hz lower so somewhere in between 31-32hz give neverything was built to those specs to begin with

that will depend on how much the tune changes.. it will definately be a higher tune though.. and yeh you could add a peice to the port.. unless of course the box is all put together
