Wire problem

i have a solo baric 15 L7 and and memphis 1100 watt amp and for several weeks i have been usin my old amp which is an 1600 watt power acoustik amp and it sounded alot louder than my memphis amp i couldnt figure it out and i went up to a car audio store today and the guy told me it was my wires i had them runnin on cuz i used 8 gauge wire and he told me i shouldve been using 4 gauge and im lossin power lettin the power flow threw the 8 gauge and i got some 4 gague hadnt hooked it up yet but could that be the problem u think?

you should be usin a 4 awg for that amp, at least. it puts out around 1300-1400 watts

to tell u the truth i saw 8 guage wire and it is tiny...it looks so small...i think unles u havea round 400watts stay away from 8 gauge and go no less then 4 gauge...but u should check ur sub out as well i dout tht the wires made it sound drastically different

^^ 8 is for around 400 watts. you need at least a 4 awg

i have 8 for my alpine v-power 4 channell.. and 4 gauge for my infinity ref. 611a sub amp...
