What is the best amp to use with the Alpine SWR-1222D
12" 1500W Dual 2-Ohm Subwoofer? Just for one right now but to be able to later on add another one. And is this sub decent?

kicker zx1500.1 or zx1000.1 depending on how much power you want.

well, that still wouldnt work because the rms on each is 500 = at least 1000 watts.

kicker kx1200.1

tigger, if you can exchage it for the dual voice coil 4 ohm sub, you can wire the one sub to 2 ohms, and then when you get another dual voice coil 4 ohm sub, you can wire it to 1 ohm where each sub will get 600 watts (b/c it puts out 1200 @ 1 ohm)

or just get the zx1500.1 and keep the sub you allready have, just wire it to 4ohms so it'll get about 700wrms then when you get another one wire them to 2ohms.

i am just thinkin that 1500 is a lil overkill for those subs. rovin says that this amp makes these subs pound. putting 1500 watts into these will be too much IMO.

IMO, i would just get the dual 4 ohm sub (b/c u havent got a subs yet right?)- then wire that sub to 2 ohms giving it 600 watts. whe you decide to add another sub, just get another DVC 4 ohm sub and wire it down to 1 ohm.

and there not that expensive anymore

you either need a 1ohm mono amp or a 2 channel ran bridged 4ohm load, dual 2 sub , that is the only way you can run it, you have to dictate a budget to us, the 600.1 will not work and the 1200.1 may be to much power.

well, the 600.1 will work if he only had one sub. i guess he could buy 2 of thosem one for each sub, lol.

ROVIN has the kx1200.1 on two r's and they handle them like champs. from what i have heard, its a perfect match. and anways, its only giving each sub around 600 watts. each R can handle alot more power than that. i have seen it :-)
