Connecting SelfAmplifies Car Sub to Home

 

I was wondering if anybody knows how to connect a self amplified car subwoofer to a home system, I have an Infinity Basslink, how do I get power to it, will I fry anything how do I wire it to my receiver things like that. Thanks alot guys

First of all, you need power. You will need a clean (highly regulated) 12v DC power supply that can produce at least 10 amps continuous (your sub can pull upwards of 25 before it shuts off so be conservative on the settings.) This will set you back more than the cost of a powered home subwoofer...but you asked.

Then you need signal. If your receiver has an RCA jack that says 'sub out' just use that. If not, your basslink bas both an internal lowpass crossover and high-level inputs so you're cool.

Honestly, you'll be much better off just buying a home sub...cheaper and will work better.
