I was wondering if my 2 JL w6v2 12"s will sound good with an 800watt Audiobahn Monoblock amp. I will make a custom box that is an exact replica of the "superb" JL boxes that are on their site. And i wanted to know if $400 is a good buy on 2 12" JL w6v2? Also, any other suggestions......
Thanks,
DevilDEG

You could use a better amp. What is your budget?

I personally would never put any Audiobahn amps on a sub with a calibur like JL - though others would disagree .
Is that $400 for used subs & how much will u spend on a amp ?

I'd get a good 100wrms brand name amp for those ...

Not very high, a friend wants to sell me his amp, the one mentioned above, for around $200. I can't spend more than $220 on an amp right now, cause the speakers are soo expensive. But I think I'm getting a good deal on the subs....what do you think?

those subs new online are $340 each so if those are in good condition & u know the guy then yea ...

for that low budget go ebay - look for a used 1000wrms @ 1ohm Orion, JBL , kicker ,Mtx , Alpine etc

And do you guys think that i should use a closed box, or some other kind? Either way, I'm making it so any tips on board and what to use and not to use would be great.

If u want it loud go ported using JL's rec specs & i personally would use 1" thick mdf - though others on here would say 3/4 would work

You need to use 3/4" MDF, not plywood. Go visit Home Depot, they should have some.

Do not use ply as it has air gaps in it .

best amp for it would be JL 1000/1 which is $700 ! - lol

those subs are 400wrms 4ohms DVC subs which can be hooked up like this Upload
with a 1000wrms @ 1ohms like
MB Quart raa1000
PPI DCX 1000.1
Rockford Fosgate T10001bd
Crossfire 1000
Diamond audio D61000.1
JBL BPX1100.1
Memphis 16-MCD1000

are just a few examples . Average costs around $350 & up !

Im powering my 2 JL 12w6v2's in the sealed prowedge box powered by a CrossFire VR1000D and it sounds very nice and the SQ is second to none.
