I know, one's 4ohms and the other is 2ohms. So what's the difference?

I'm wondering because I have a 1242D (they only have this one at Bestbuy) and its matched to a RF p5002 amp. I feel as if it could be wired better (those guys at Bestbuy suck at installations). So can anyone find me wiring diagrams? Something feels wrong... Thanks guys.

U should get a mono amp when running one sub or else u will be wasting alot of power. look at the p6001bd amp if u want to stay with rockford. its 600 watts at 2ohms so just wire it parallel.

one is a dual 4ohm sub (1242d) and the other is a dual 2ohm sub (1222d).

they both have the same specs, except they each can be wired to different ohm loads.

the 1242d can be wired to either 2ohms or 8ohms.
the 1222d can be wired to either 1ohm or 4ohms.
