so, i have a 2005 vw jetta, it has the 2004 body style. Im trying to uninstall my stock cd player. Does anyone know what tools i need to do this... or HOW to do it? id appreciate anyones help :-)

You first need to know how to remove the faceplate/dashboard. Every car model is different. Near the sides, usually there are grooves that either need 2 "L" shaped poles/slides that you insert or it could just be a 2 holes. Same idea. Lot of the audio shops will sell you them for few dollars. It's worth getting them. If you are really lucky, you'll see screws holding down the HU.
If you're trying to replace the stock HU, then pickup a wiring harness for your car. It'll make it much easier. Without it, you will need to know what the colour codes are.
Some, if not lot of the car shops will install new units for free if you meet certain dollar criteria. It could save you lot of manual labour.
