Box Tuning vs. Subwoofer Frequency Range

Hello,

I am new to this and my questions is, since woofer boxes are tuned to a certain frequency (commonly 32hz) does it matter then if the speaker's high range is 500 hz?

I am looking a real nice sub in the 300 - 400 rms category for a sealed enclosure and one of my goals is to get "Sacrifice" by The Roots featuring Nelly Furtado, to play both bass patterns on it as close to each other in volume as possible as this is the way it sounds on my pc speakers, Altec Lansing 641 and on my headphones, though the lower bass is a bit boomier. The higher bass misses almost completely on a lot of systems I have tried, once or twice even non-existent. Get the song and test your systems if you want.

Anyway my picks currently are:
Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1d
Pioneer TS-W306DVC
Kenwood KFC-W3009

Oh I have no way of testing any of these in my country as except for the Pioneer, no has them, so I'm relying on you guuys to help me choose.

The infinity kappa is the best out of them but if u want a cheap woofer that out performs them all get a 12 inch ascendant audio atlas from www.ascendantaudio.com
it sounds good and plays LOUD

Thanks Donny,

I am a bit sceptical about trying a brand I don't know as I only get one crack at this as it'll be hell going back and forth with correspondence and shipping and waiting from my country, Trinidad if I am not pleased. I'm sure you understand.

Anyway, any info on the other part of the question? The part about how the box tuning afects the frequency rating.

Again, Thanks!
