I just instaled my 2 15" Atlas' using an Audiobahn A8002T to power it. It diden't really sound that good beacause it was only getting 200w RMS at 4ohms. I switched it to power just one sub at 800w RMS and it now has too much power plus I'm not even using the outher 15". I need a recomendation for a good amp to power both subs at around 500-600w RMS at 4ohms. Any suggestions?

yes, how about less power... you do not need 500-600 watts for the atlas's... if i were you i would get a zapco reference 500... wire the subs in parallel which will give u a 2 ohm load... thats 250 watts rms to each sub... but actually the zapco amp probably will give you around 350 watts each sub... it is highly underated.

you can find it at www.woofersetc.com

Why did it sound so bad when I had 200w RMS going to each? Was it just beacause the amp isent that good?

Yeah, I think the Audiobahn A8002T I have is terrible. It uses so much power.

um how do u have them wired? atlas is a SVC 4 ohm sub and 2 wired parallel is a 2 ohm load

Shane, A8002T is a class AB amp. So yes it will use lot of current as you increase the volume.
If your subs are 4ohms DVC, then you should get a lot more than 200w per channel. 4ohms DVC will be 8ohms or 2ohms.
That is not a bad amp. If your alternator can supply the power, it will perform.

i agree i have messed with that amp and it does put out what i would call a true 600 rms not 800

Is it possible to just hook both of the subs to the same bridged terminal or is that not a good idea?

You'd have to run them in series which isn't always such a good idea. You wouldn't get any more power than running them in stereo anyways.

I'd think a pair of Atlas 15's would sound ok with 200 watts each. Maybe not.

that amps specs are:
2x400w rms @ 2ohms
2x200w rms @ 4ohms
1x800w rms @ 4ohms

and then it says that its not bridgeable at 2ohms??? so i don't think you can use that amp in a 2ohm load
