Hey shows the Legacy LA1870 amp ay_~full_specs as having an RMS of 900 watts X 2 at 2 ohms. Would anyone here agree that this is correct?

I'd agree that anything from Legacy is an enormous waste of time and money.
it's a MOSFET amplifier, which essentially meants it's probably class-T, and you're going to sacrifice sound quality for power and price.

cheap crap.
If you insist on buying it, don't use it for anything but subs.

Always look for the letters RMS after a power rating.
RMS means "Root Mean Square."
What this means is the amp can easily produce the rated power ALL THE TIME. The 900 watt reading you saw was likely BS, (I would think 900 divided by 2, not times 2, and only if lightning strikes it).
There isn't a chance in hell that a legacy amplifier is producing that kind of power.
