I've got a JBL BP600.1 amp, and am going to buy two Alpine Type-R 10" subs. What would be better, the 4ohm or 2ohm subs?

If you don't mind me answering this question I will.

Output 4 Ohms: 300W x 1
Output 2 Ohms: 600W x 1
Signal-to-Noise Ratio: >100
Frequency Response (±3dB): 20Hz - 500Hz
Total Harmonic Distortion: 0.1%
Input Sensitivity: 250mV - 4V

here are the specs of your amp.
I would buy 2 4ohm subs and run them parallel to get a 2 ohm load on the amp and get the most power out of the amp.

Dual 2 ohm version in series/parallel.
gives a 2 ohm load, and approx 300wRMS per sub

Buy the 4 ohm version like Land says.

If you get the dual 4 ohm version
you can only run at either 1 or 4 ohms.
I see no point in that.
care to explain yourself?

Im sorry I did not reallize that they were dual voice coils My Bad. What I meant to say is that if they were SVC to purchase 2 subs at 4 ohms and Parallel them to make a 2 ohm load on the amp Bridged to be exact.

I'd get 1ohm stable amp instead. You'll get many more choices with it.

I know it's off topic, but it was for future amp buyers :-)
