Expolain power listed at 12.5v vs 14.4v

Do I have to have some special alternator to get 14.4 volts out of it.
Why do these companies list RMS power at different voltages ?

no. 12.5v is when the car is off. about 13.7-14 is your car at idle i believe. and 14.4v should be anything about 1k rpm.

companies rate amps at 13.8 or 14.4 to make them look more powerful than amprs rated at 12.5

ofocurse, those who get involved in car audio know theres a big difference, about 25% more power at 14.4v than at 12.5v
