I have 2 Alpine Type S subs, dual voice coil 4ohm + 4ohm, Rms 200 watts Max 600 watts. I was looking at the Kicker KX400.1 or a JBL BP600.1. Would the JBL be too much power? What would be the best amp to run to them? Can anyone give me a better amp suggestion if you don't like these 2?
get the JBL amp but turn the gains quite a bit down - the subs will be getting about 150% of what the power is but it would be abetter choice than the KX400.1 because the 400.1 is 400w rms at 2 ohm, and those subs will be wired at either 1 or 4 ohms paralell or series..
get the JBL amp cuz it will also give you some head room for later upgrades if you choose so

Get the JBL and do like bacon said turn your gain down a bit. Are you could get another sub and run 3 total. But the JBL would be the best choice in my opinion.
