Chronicles of chad's rd alpha box build

Platinum Member Username: BestmankindWEST COAST RD AUDIO Post Number: 18016 Registered: Oct-05 | started on this today. i am pretty much done. i just need to carpet it. i'll go buy some carpet tomorow and finish it. the box is for RD Audio Alpha 15. it is 3.5cuft net tuned to 33hz. anyways here we go. first i cut the boards and laid them out.   oops did i use too much glue?  now to put the port in. its 2 inches wide and 14.5 inches tall. i like smaller ports. with smaller port area i can achieve the tuning i like without the L bend. don't worry i have never built a box with port noise.  since the box is kinda big, i decided to brace it.  the essentials when building a box.  just bought this jigsaw today at home depot. it was only 29.95 plus tax. it works really good.  now to make the circle for the cut out.  finally the finished product.   |

Platinum Member Username: BestmankindWEST COAST RD AUDIO Post Number: 18038 Registered: Oct-05 | lol paul. ok guys i am finished. put the mag in there for now. when the alpha comes, i'll swap it out. a little review of the box. its alot different than when i had the mag in s 3.0cuft net tuned to 32hz. that extra .5 cuft makes a big difference. the bass seems to be louder with the new box at the same time deeper. however with the smaller box it was tighter. but i like this sound better. it seems to bring out the sq of the mag even more. so in conclusion, its a success. i am very happy with it. it was hard work cause the weather today was in the mid 80s. and now the pics.    |
