is it safe to hook 2 different subs up to the same amp?

if not WHY?

i don't see why. just make sure the ohms on both the subs are correct.

You really don't want to do that. If you do you will have two different sounds and it will be hard to get them to sound the same. Best thing to do is get 2 subs the same with the same wattage.

Bad idea, two different subs made of slightly different components will not respond at exactly the same time, bass may sound muffled at high vloumes, if u do this use a sealed box with sepparated chambers or 2 sepparate boxes or you will get interference. Same wattage would help, same size, try to match the components as closely as possible
