is there any way to find the rms rating of an amp that doesnt say anything about it anywhere on it. its a nice amp that i have on a 12" sub box its for my house and its decently loud but nowhere on it it says the brand or rms rating. not even a serial code.. so if you know any way to test the rms rating that would be great
My guess (and I'm probably completely wrong but its worth a shot) is that you would do it in the reverse way of setting your gain.
Play tones and adjust your gain to where it starts to distort by ear, then just turn it down a little bit. Then hook up your DMM to your outputs on the amp, unplug the sub, and then play a 50hz tone. Read the voltage it puts out then just use that to find how many watts rms it is giving you without distortion.
