well they are similar but a bit more difficult to use. But once u get the hang of it u will love it.
Well basically u need a torrent program such as bitcomet. (There are others but i use this one and it works well)
Once the program is all set up, u need to go to a torrent search web site such as www.torrentspy.com or isohunt.com
You search for what you want to download from these sites. Once you have found what you want, download the setup file and run it in bitcomet. (or whichever program you decide to use).
Thats all there is to it.

Oh, i just re-read your question. You wanted a program to give you better quality music...
Torrents wont necessarily give u better quality music, but they are better than limewire.

Yea, I get most of my music from torrents. I use bit torrent, and it has never failed me, so i recommend that.

Jamie, once you have downloaded the software, u have to search for whatever it is you want to download using a torrent search website.
I explained it all in my post at the top ^^^^

Hmmm... i find torrents annoying and slow for small files that arent popular
if you're looking for music that isnt mainstream and you want songs that sound similar i suggest you try the blog scene
its not their own music, but they have a friend who has a friend who knows the band's bass player's brother etc etc
try the following music blog search engines
http://elbo.ws/
http://hypem.com/

search for artists or tracks, then open the blog and download the track.
i also use a program called Soulseek, good for house music but you can only download one file from a user at a time

Yea torrents are not that good for single tracks but they are great for albums

thats why you just download the whole album as a torrent and then when you start the download process with said program you only select the songs you want off the album. at least thats what utorrent allows me to do.
