I was just wondering on this... Can you hurt a DVC sub by running only 1 coil? Say the sub is a DVC 300rms sub and you run only one coil and only give it 150 watts? Will that hurt the sub?

Dont do it. Could cause the coil to lose its alignment in the motor.

Yes, you can run 1 coil....but i DO NOT recommend doing so.

The sub will loose alot of its power handling and the T/S parameters of the sub will be totally different.

Stick w/ runnin both coils.

yes, it is a bad idea. canaan is right. you change many parameters.. just sell the sub (or amp) and get one that suits your needs

lol.. must think that teh left side of the coil and the right side each have there own coil.. lol..

seriously steinke- Coils are wrapped around the former. there is no "left side, right side" on the winding. i can provide pics if that would help you?
