I'm looking to get some new speakers so I can hear the words to songs well over my spl sub. I currently have all Pioneer speakers, but they just aren't cutting it. What do you guys recommend to fit my needs.

Would that make them more clear? If so what amp should I get, I'm not sure of the model of the speakers because they were in my truck when I bought it.

CDT, Focal, and JL all make good components. Make sure you also get a good amp for them though.

I thought comps were for bass? I'm just looking for something where I will be able to hear the words over my sub. If I run an amp on my current speakers will it work?

no, componenets are the 6.5 + seperate tweeters + crossovers.

adding an amp to your speakers should make them louder and clearer but chances are the pioneer coaxials you have suck.

i would get a nice component set and cheap amp for them.

you can get a decent component set and amp for them for under 200 but a budget of up to 400 would give you alot of nice options.

Diamond Hex Silks are still among the best I have heard/installed/owned and IMO fairly close to similarly priced models from Dynaudio, Focal, CDT, Morel, Rainbow, JL, etc. I love the sound and impact of the Hex's and I am not quite sure why some people around here don't recommend them.

He probably posted it here since there isn't much traffic in the Speakers section.

Alright I will look into getting a pair of them. What do you think I should use for an amp for them? Also, should I just get 1 pair of them or 2?
