i had same amp and same problem...all wiring was fine as well...all i can suggest is go bak to kicker and exchange ur product...or jus check ur wiring (as in series or parallel and make sure its stable at right ohm)
they sent me back a new one but i never got to test it coz my system got robbed lmao...too bad fookers aint get my amp.... i jus recently gave it to my cousin and he says its working great..
tho see if u can get some store who is authentic kicker seller and try to talk them into exchangin this product for u if u dnt have warranty

hmm, sounds like no problem to me. My crappy little Jensen does the same thing...red protection light comes on at first, then after a couple of seconds it goes off, and the green power light comes on....and then it works.
