"Amputator" Series

220 amp / 150 amp idle $419.00

^^^ That one. 220 is plenty of current for that amp, and that alt does the most amps at idle also.

Definitely get the Ampuator series. The have the same regular amperage and more idle amperage.

but the 280s the amputator cost 90$ more for only 10 extra amps at idle.

i would by the life time warrenty for 100 though.

He doesn't need 280 amps..... that's why I told him to get the 220 / 150.

Yes, more is always better, but 220 is enough, and the "more is always better" principle also applies to the idle amperage.

youll be alright for now. monitor your voltages though once you get everything installed and then prioritize your upgrades

to be fair MS at full power that amp is going to draw ~240 or more if he runs it at .5ohm, plus hes going to use ~40a for his car electronics and whatnot, plus with 2500+rms you can tell me he isnt going to want to put in a powerful speaker amp at some point. so thats why i say go with the 280a, and alt. is one thing you dont want to cut corners on.

im not sure ask dom, i thought iv seen someone say that before though. but the lifetime warrenty is worth it.

Hey Mat,take a look at the "Dual Alts" thread over in accessories and voice your opinion on the entire thread if you wouldn't mind.I'm glad to see you mentioned the actual/usual purpose of the alternator being there and that is for the vehicle's normal requirements. Most people on here seem to forget to add that amperage into their calculations in their installs.
