Can anyone tell me a good amp for powering 1 JL 12w7 ? I know the JL 1000/1 would be best but I am kind of on a budget. what about lightning audio, is the S1.1000d good? I believe it is rated at 1000W RMS.

Might be OK, but you'll need real power to bounce this sucker. Look into a good crossfire amp. Hard to find, even on the internet, but they are the closest any brand has ever come to JL, and are a heck of a lot cheaper. Check out www.crossfireaudio.com
