I need help designing a box for my 12" Kicker Comp ( 4 ohm) . I was leaning towards a sealed enclosure but I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks.

Oh and is it ok to leave the kicker mounted inverted like this for a little while? The back of the box was way too close to the basket, and just too small in general. It was making my amp go into protection mode.

I changed the xmax to the spec that kicker gives (9.76mm) and got this for a box design.

http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported-box.asp?Ew=25&Eh=14&Dia=6&Xmax=9.76&V d=.11&NumW=1&Vb=2&Fb=40&Qts=&Vas=&Fs=&CE=0

should I use that instead?

so it doesn't matter that your box has 20mm for the sub xmax, when kicker specifies 9.76?

For this box, that Logan designed, where should I cut the hole for the sub? on the black or red side?

One more thing, I listen to mostly rock, techno, and occassionally rap. Will I lose alot of that tight/accurate bass by using a the ported box, I linked above, instead of a sealed enclosure?

yea I like the kickers. cheap, and get the job done well. i don't like spending money on this stuff anymore (sold my entire alpine system) so between my boston acoustics (front speakers only), the amp, and this sub, I've spent a total of $40
