I'm making a vented subwoofers box need HELP!

I been pricing around stores for vented subwoofers boxes 12' but they all cost from 100.00-250.00 dollars and i can make a box myself for at least 80.00 but i don't know how to find out what the depth got to be and volume of the box either, Can anyone help me with that i got 2. 12' M1 memphis.

and after you finish building your box and you need to set the gain to your amp.

well right now i have a sealed box. It will be awhile for me to get a vented box, i was going to dill one big hole on a side of the box so i can breathe lil bit. will have be a good idea until i get my other box?

you can't just drill a hole and be done with. it will sound terrible.

if you want to convert your current seal box to a ported then i suggest you use a 3 inch pvc pipe. get the volume of your box then determine what tuning you want. then cut a hole to fit a 3 inch pvc pipe on your box. then cut the pvc pipe to the desired tuning and stick it in the hole.
