I have a 2003 Tahoe with the Bose factory system. I want to add a head unit, amp and subwoofer. I know that I can keep most facotry settings with some adapters, but will I lose sound quality with the speakers by replacing the head unit?

I think you have a factory amplifier in that Tahoe. So there is wiring from your Bose HU that is carrying the signal to the OEM amp, so you would need adapters and stuff. However, if you don't have an OEM amplifier in it, then it's all pretty easy and simple.
And NO you will not loose any SQ by replacing your head unit, just make sure you don't go too cheap:-) Look at Pioneer and Alpine.

bump,
Tear that Tahoe up and see, LOL, well that's a joke.
On the keeping it real side: call your dealer or manufacturer's tech support, somebody must know if there is an amp in that sucker.
