Example. 1 Dual 4 ohm sub. Wire each +- to the terminals on its OWN terminal (terminal as in on the box). Then on the outside, of the box, you can wire the subs to any ohm you want without taking out the subwoofers. Anyone ever tried this?

Yep...I do that on alot of my boxes.
I use 8ga wire and bolts for box terminals too.
