Higher tune not louder??? wtf....

Y does it seem like when i try a higher tuned box say around 38hz, it seems louder when i tune it at 32 or 33hz?? Does ne1 know?? Thanx....

are you increasing the port area when you tune higher???

With pvc i have 2 4.25" ports tuned to like 33hz or wut ever, when i screw with the tuning i just leave it with those widths and cut or add to the length.....but i even tried that subwoofer tools calculator with a square vent and it still didnt seem louder.....hmmmm

try more port area...isntead of messing with the length. maybe that will help.

WHOA close........... but isnt that already big enough??...... o by tha way i called dd audio and asked tha prices for the 2512 and 2515 for my location and for tha 12 it would be around $210 w/shipping, and for tha 15 it would be around $240 w/shipping, its only like 30 dollars more so would u just get the 15, or it wouldnt be much different??

hell yeah.

cone area is always a plus.:-)

you are paying thirty dollars more to go from one 12" to essentially 2-1/4 10"s using a very general cone area formula.

i don't know if aeros are different than Slot ported boxes as far as port area goes, but you have roughly 7 sq.in. of port area per cubic foot. DD recommends 16 sq.in. per cubic foot.


so maybe try to get a little bit closer to 12 or 14 per cube?

I have 2 cvrs in it, and ive alwayz wondered how tha hell u get the square inches from ur port....

By tha way i just read ur profile and i wuz lmao so bad when i read those funniest threads especially tha 1 with that guy that was all scared cuz his "voice coil" wuz stickin out

try it.

like i said...most people only use 2 or 3 aeros.
but with slots people use way more port area for some reason.

and DD rec's 16 per cube with slot ported. so try to get closer to that number and see what happens with aeros.

don't be mad a me if oyu don't like the outcome.
