I need a recommendation for a 1000 watt amp stable at 1 ohm. It's powering an IDMax. I used to use a piece of garbage Hifonics amp, and it ended up cutting out every now and then so I'm using my backup Diamond Audio setup, but I want to go back to the IDMax. I don't want to spend as much on a JL 1000/1. As long as it won't end up like the Hifonics did, I'll be happy.
ID tech told me that the sub is good 200-1000w. Meaning you can't really under power them, however I wouldn't know. I've always and only used the Hifonics 1000w. Never had a problem. Like I said, the only problem I really had was the amp. That's why I need suggestions for a good new one.
check out a kicker kx1200.1 orion 1200D. ednine.1 you don't need exactly 1000wRMS. the subs are very efficient, hence them not needing 1000wRMS to get loud and sound good. but the coils can take it. just remember to set your gains right and oyu should be fine.
