I need a plan for a GREAT install if i could be told where the box should go and such i can do it. i have a 99 explorer sport would something like this be good well i had a pic but i lost it iv tried layin down my seats for more air space but i think its too much air space because all it did is get weaker. so any opinions on a good install for my suv would be appriecated.
I would probaly face them toward the rear, i like the way they sound that way. But the only system I've installed in an explorer was 2 12" MTX ina sealed box. and the closer you moved them to the back hatch the better they sounded inside. For ported it may be different, just try the facing different ways and make your choice. Do you have the box yet? are you going to be building your own?
^^I've heard ppl say that about SUVs. I don't think having a ported enclosure facing close to somethin would sound good. Seems like it would cut down the airflow of the port.
im goinjg to build my own you know the wheel whels i was going to build a box with subs facing up and amp in the box facing out towards front but i just ordered the orion 5000d amp and i am waiting till SSi 12's go back on sale so i wont have them for a while but i do have eternals i can play around with in a sealed box
I'm waitin on my 2 15" SSIs. Hopefully they'll sound good, i was really wanting some TSX or SSX, but i found a good deal on teh SSI and couldnt pass it up.
SW- I remember you having a thread trying to sell that amp, I just picked up a A8000T today for $100 and im going to use it to push one of my 15s until i save up enuff for a good amp,and i can run both subs. i only had about 150 left to spend.Wish i could afford that A1800T.
I found em on ebay. I got 2 for $260 shipped. Great Deal. You'll prolly have to find a dealer that will ship them, mobilesoundworks sells treos online, but they dont sell 15s
