pioneer 770p
audiobahn a800t
1.8 cuft box tuned to 34hz

and for some reason the aresenal is worse, does anyone no why?

According to there site ur box is a little small, but not small enough to effect the performance that much. Also they rec. ur port be tuned to 35hz...I guess there just not as good..lol

Arsenals have a higher Qts than SE's...try a larger box. ~2.25-2.5cuft.

So not building the box to recommended specs will make it louder and sound better..Marshall..Upload

i didnt realize AA recommended 2cuft for that sub.

actually...larger boxes tend to peak higher in SPL (in most cases). but when you get a box too big the subs will start to sound muddy.

maybe the Aresneal needs more power to get going? If the box is close to specs, then it should not affect it that bad!

Mike, in your last post you say you have the RE SE XXX, what do you mean? SE? XXX?
The ported box you have is a little small.
The main thing is that you haven't broken in your sub yet. Honestly, if you've played it for 10 minutes or an hour, you haven't broken it it. I've played mine for several hours, and have noticed a distinct change in sound since I installed it. I'm not saying this will for sure change your mind, but it will be a fairer comparison.

When you say not as loud. how much quieter is it? If it's almost as loud, I could maybe see it. If it's a lot quieter, then there's something up.

my amp is 800 rms and the sub is 750 rms, the se is only 600 rms and its getting louder, weird

my sub is an SE but was re-coned with the xxx cone, so therefore the se xxx, and the sub is almost as loud, on my HU, the pioneer 770p, i turn it up to about 42/60, and at that point the re still holds up good but the aresenal kinda distorts

I'm thinking that you have the amp wired to 2 ohms since the arsenals only come in dual 4 ohms and your your se may be a dual 2 ohm sub. If you wired the subs the same way then you aren't getting the same ohm load as the se.

no, they are both dual 4 ohm, and my amp is only stable at 2 ohms

yeah, i see that. i guess the arsenal is just worse? i don't see how that could be though, if it could be used as a sit in for the avalanche. maybe something wasn't put together right, or you need to just let it break in more.

if you turn it up that loud and it distorts your gain is set wrong. not all subs are the same, that could effect it, but i don't think it would make it less loud.

no, my gain is set right, my HU is 4v and thats what my amp is at

?? question

2 dual 4ohm subs wired to what>? what ohm load ?
dual 4s can be wired to either 1 or 4ohm loads; thats without creating any voltage dividers.

cause u said u have a 2ohm amplifier.

i'd bet 100$ that an arsenal without something wrong with it wont distort with 800w rms if its clean power. even at 1000w....

it didnt really distort, just kinda lost some sound quality i think, i dont really now, i would call myself a rookie at car audio, but what i do no for a fact, is in the same box powered by the same amp and the same song at the same volume, the se was better hands down

you can't only try one song man, different notes hit different on different subs, try other songs to see if it's still not as loud

...Break it in. period. Give it a good 200 wrms for like 4 hour intervals.
When, I got my 15" arsez, I thought they were barely louder than my single 15" ava... 3 days of playing later, WoW. Huge Difference. I'm soon to be getting a Orion 2500D and I know they'll love every bit of 1000-1200 rms.
